A page on Facebook dedicated to people with vision problems is a very interesting application created by students as part of the Imagine Cup 2011, held every year by Microsoft. This time, it its about an application that enables people with impaired vision to use the facebook and it has the name "Eclipsis". The application is using a Screen Reader specially made for Facebook by reproducing Facebook data to sound.
The creators of this application are all students of "OPA": Tzanetopoulos Alex, Philip and Dimitris Protogeridis Stripelis. With Eclipsis application they managed to get the second place in the competition
The aim of Eclipsis, is to broaden the socialization horizons for people with visual impairments, by helping the blind person to avoid social alienation and racism, giving them the opportunity to socialize, be entertained and informed without external aid, from his own home. The characteristics of Eclipsis are:
